Accessing Council Services

You can call the Royal Borough of Greenwich using a free online interpreting service through video calling. The service is available from 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.

Free Information, Advice and Support from deafPLUS

deafPLUS is a charity that specialises in support for deaf, hard of hearing and deafblind persons. They aim to improve quality of life, focusing on the person rather than the disability. 

The following are a few examples of the support offered by deafPLUS:

  • Letter writing and translation from English to British Sign Language.
  • Advice on issues, for example -
    • Welfare benefits
    • Housing
    • Social Care
    • Employment
  • Working with other specialised organisations such as debt and legal services
  • Referring to internal services at deafPLUS such as YOUchoose (Personal Assistant service) to promote independence

Please note that most support is now offered via video calling (Facetime, Skype or Zoom)
