Waiting for planned medical care or surgery can be a frustrating time. That’s why it’s so important that while you wait, you get regular, clear and accessible updates so that you can plan your next steps.

A new resource has been created by the NHS so that you can check the average waiting time for treatment, consultations and surgery at your local hospital.

The new search tool relies on information provided from each hospital on a weekly basis.

It's important to note that some patients will wait less time than the average and some patients will wait longer than the average waiting time
