HWG Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Advisory Group OCTOBER meeting

We know that people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds face additional barriers accessing mental health care. We are setting up a working group to make recommendations to both commissioners and providers on the changes we want to see.

About the HWG Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic Advisory Group

The Black, Asian, and Minority Ethnic Advisory Group works with Healthwatch Greenwich to monitor and follow up on the work that local health and social care providers are doing to end health inequality.

In addition, the group prioritises the following commitments outlined in the Royal Borough of Greenwich Equality and Equity Charter:

• Challenging discrimination, harassment, bullying, hate crime, and victimisation.
• Eliminating barriers, encouraging a growth mindset, raising aspirations and creating opportunities for growth beyond limit.
• Listening to and understanding the diverse needs of all people.

The Advisory Group is open to anyone who defines themselves as Black, Asian, or from a Minority Ethnic group. We would particularly appreciate the perspective that your clients or staff members would bring.
