Coffee morning every Thursday at the Sherard Road Day Centre in Eltham
A social group for carers of adults 18+ with disabilities and learning difficulties, and carers of autistic adults in Greenwich, London.
"Caring for an adult with learning difficulties or an autistic adult is a very different sort of life to others. When other people’s children are leaving home, our child’s needs increase and the support of school isn’t there anymore. Our time is never our own. The things people take for granted we don’t get to enjoy. We aren’t free to go or do as we please or focus on our own needs as we get older. We lose sleep with worry about what will happen when we are gone. We still want to enjoy life but it is difficult".
