Nutrition & Hydration Week 2026: Supporting Wellbeing Across Greenwich

Every March, organisations around the world come together to recognise Nutrition & Hydration Week, an annual campaign designed to highlight and celebrate the importance of food and fluids in maintaining health and wellbeing. This year, from 16 to 22 March 2026, Healthwatch Greenwich is proud to support the week and raise awareness within our community.

16–22 March 2026

Nutrition & Hydration Week has a simple mission: to promote good nutrition and hydration practices locally, nationally and globally. Its goals are especially important given that around 3 million people in the UK are at risk of malnutrition, a figure that underscores the need for better understanding, prevention and early support.

The campaign encourages everyone—healthcare teams, community organisations, carers and the public—to take part in improving awareness. It also highlights key standards such as the 10 Key Characteristics of Good Nutritional Care, which aim to ensure people receive safe, appropriate and person‑centred nutritional support across health and social care services.

One of the most popular moments of the week is the Global Tea Party, taking place this year on Wednesday 18 March 2026. It’s a fun and inclusive way for communities to come together, spark conversations and celebrate better hydration and nutrition in creative ways.

At Healthwatch Greenwich, we know that good nutrition and hydration are essential—not only for physical health, but also for mood, concentration, recovery and overall quality of life. Whether you’re caring for someone, managing your own health, or simply looking to improve your daily habits, small steps such as regularly drinking water or eating balanced meals can make a significant impact.
