🌙 World Sleep Day – 13 March 2026

Today, Healthwatch Greenwich is proud to recognise World Sleep Day 2026, an annual global event dedicated to celebrating sleep and raising awareness of the important issues connected to it — from sleep medicine and education to social wellbeing and road safety.

Held this year on Friday 13 March, World Sleep Day encourages communities, organisations and healthcare professionals worldwide to highlight why sleep matters and how better sleep can support healthier, safer and more fulfilling lives.

The 2026 theme, “Sleep Well, Live Better,” reminds us that good‑quality sleep is fundamental to overall wellbeing. When we sleep well, we think more clearly, manage emotions more effectively, recover physically, and engage more positively with daily life.

Sleep is often overlooked, yet it is essential for our physical health, mental resilience, school performance, work productivity and even safety on the roads. Ongoing sleep problems can contribute to chronic illnesses, reduced alertness, increased risk of accidents and poorer quality of life. World Sleep Day serves as a call to action to make sleep a priority and to reduce the burden of sleep disorders through awareness, better prevention and early diagnosis.

At Healthwatch Greenwich, we encourage everyone to take a moment today to reflect on their own sleep routines. Are you getting enough rest? Do you struggle with sleep quality, timing or consistency? These are important conversations — and you don’t need to navigate them alone.

We are here to listen to your experiences with local health services, including support for sleep issues. If you have concerns about your sleep, need advice on where to seek help, or want to share your experiences of accessing sleep‑related healthcare, you can speak to us.

Good sleep supports better health. Let’s make it a priority together.
