Strengthening Access to Care with the Greenwich Vietnamese Women’s Group
🧭 Helping Residents Understand and Access Local Services
Our main purpose on the day was to guide community members on how to access health and social care services in Greenwich, and how to use their experiences to shape improvements. Many attendees were unfamiliar with how to register with a GP, where to seek specialist support, or how to raise concerns about care. Through conversations, demonstrations and translated guidance, we helped residents understand their rights, available services, and the importance of sharing feedback through Healthwatch Greenwich.
For many in the group, language barriers and unfamiliar systems can make navigating care challenging. By meeting people in their own community space, we were able to break down those barriers and ensure they felt confident accessing support when they need it.
🌿 Cultural Wellbeing Activities Supporting the Day
The event also featured discussions on Traditional Chinese approaches to wellbeing and Laughing Yoga sessions, offering a holistic approach to wellbeing. These activities encouraged residents to explore ways of improving both physical and mental health.
The combination of cultural activities and practical guidance created a welcoming environment where residents could learn, ask questions and feel empowered.
