Bringing Healthwatch Greenwich Insights to Primary Care

A borough‑wide commitment to improving health and care was on full display at the recent Protected Learning Time (PLT) event, where more than 120 primary care professionals and community partners came together to share learning, strengthen relationships and improve outcomes for Greenwich residents.

🤝 How Residents can share their experiences 

Healthwatch Greenwich staff and volunteers played a central role, engaging directly with GPs, practice teams and community organisations to highlight how residents can share their experiences of local health and social care services. We showcased key programmes — including Raising Awareness of Abuse in Marginalised Communities and "Be Well Support" (a programme that focuses on how we support grassroot community groups) — demonstrating how community voices shape service improvement.

On Hold- GP Telephone Waiting Times in Greenwich

In 2021, we conducted a mystery shopping exercise to measure telephone waiting times in GP surgeries in Greenwich. Given that long waits on phone lines continue to be a regular source of frustration for residents, we repeated this exercise at the end of 2024.
