Let’s talk about the vaccine
The Royal Borough of Greenwich Vaccine Champions will be visiting households in June in locations around the borough where vaccine take up is low to hear about any concerns you may have and provide information about how, where and when to get vaccinated.
If you live in Woolwich, West Greenwich, Thamesmead, Plumstead, Eltham West and the Peninsula look out for friendly faces wearing high visibility jackets with ID visiting your neighbourhoods from 8 to 18 June.

Over the next two weeks, 8 June to 18 June, a team of trained COVID-19 Vaccine Champions will be knocking on over 72,000 doors across Greenwich. They will be targeting areas in Greenwich where we know the vaccine uptake is lower.
‘Let’s talk about the vaccine’ champions will cover the following areas in Greenwich: Woolwich Common, Thamesmead, Plumstead and Glyndon, Woolwich Riverside, Greenwich West, Greenwich Peninsula and Eltham West.
The programme aims to improve COVID-19 vaccine uptake, especially in cohorts 1-9, through a community based outreach programme targeting everyone who may be left behind as well as building residents’ vaccine confidence.
The vaccine champions will be knocking on doors listening to residents’ views about the vaccine, giving information and answering questions as well as offering support to everyone eligible to have the vaccine. They will have discussions about the vaccine and provide an easy way for eligible people to receive a vaccine soon after their conversation.
Every day a mobile satellite clinic or a local vaccination centre in the area will be open for eligible residents to walk-in and have the COVID-19 vaccine. The team will also offer home vaccination if the patient is housebound. The satellite clinics will have flexible opening times including mornings and evenings. There will be clinics offering the Pfizer vaccine and clinics offering the AstraZeneca vaccine ensuring that all eligible residents, including those under 40, will have the opportunity to have the vaccine close to their home during this campaign. Each day a clinician pharmacist will accompany the outreach team offering clinical discussions with residents and answer clinical questions.
