Chief Executive Officer Designate confirmed for South East London Integrated Care System

The NHS South East London Integrated Care Board (ICB) is due to come in to being from April 2022 subject to the Health and Care Bill going through Parliament currently passing in to law.
The ICB’s Chair Designate, Richard Douglas CB, welcomed the announcement:
“Andrew has been the South East London Integrated Care System’s Lead for several years now and has played a significant role in establishing the ICS. I am delighted that he has now been confirmed as our Chief Executive Officer Designate. Andrew has worked in south east London for many years and brings with him a passion for improving outcomes for our residents through real partnership between the NHS and local government."
Andrew Bland, Chief Executive Officer Designate responded by saying:
“I am absolutely delighted to have been appointed Chief Executive Officer (Designate) for South East London, a system I have worked in for many years and am committed to. Our partnership across health and care, working with local government, has the potential to make a real difference to the health and wellbeing of our residents; something our experience of partnership working during the Pandemic has served to underline.
"We will seek to be closely connected to the diverse and vibrant communities we serve, take action to improve the health outcomes and reduce the health inequalities they experience, and do so in a sustainable way in the face of the significant challenges ahead."
Sir David Sloman, Regional Director for the NHS in London, said:
“Andrew Bland has already played a significant role in establishing the local care system in South East London and I’d like to congratulate him on his new appointment.
“Achieving the goals set out the in London Vision will be a priority for all the new ICB designates and I look forward to working with Andrew to drive improvements in patient care and tackling the multiple health inequalities we face in the capital.”
