Resident doctors go on five-day strike from Wednesday 17 December

Doctors will be on a five-day strike from Wednesday, 17 December. This is likely to increase pressure on hospitals across south east London.

Resident doctors are striking from 7am on Wednesday 17 December to 7am on Monday 22 December

During this time, hospitals across south east London are likely to be busier than usual.

If you need care over this period:

  • You can visit your local pharmacy for expert advice and medicines
  • Call 999 or go to your nearest Emergency Department (A&E) if you have a life-threatening emergency or serious injury
  • Go to NHS 111 online, if you cannot contact your GP
  • For a mental health emergency, go to NHS 111 online
  • People who don’t have internet access can call NHS 111 by dialling 111
