Metro Gavs Race Equality Audit- Our response

The fight for racial equality is an ongoing battle, and it seems that even organisations dedicated to promoting inclusivity aren't immune to the struggle.

Recently, METRO, a prominent local charity, conducted an internal audit focused on the experiences of their staff, trustees, and volunteers. The findings were disheartening, revealing serious issues related to race, negative behaviour towards staff, and limited knowledge of multicultural norms amongst employees.

The Healthier Greenwich Partnership (HGP) acknowledges METRO's reflective approach and will work with them as they progress the work required to create a fully inclusive environment for all their staff and volunteers. However, HGP expects to see tangible progress and will keep under review METRO's ability to lead with trust and confidence. The road to racial equality is long and difficult, but with commitment to change, progress is possible.
