Health and care partners from across the Our Healthier South East London (OHSEL) Integrated Care System (ICS) are celebrating the achievements of staff who have given one million COVID vaccinations as part of the efforts to prevent people from getting seriously ill from COVID-19.
Speaking of this important milestone, South East London ICS Lead, Andrew Bland said:
I would like to thank staff and volunteers at all 57 vaccination sites across south east London and those who have supported ‘pop-up’ services in our communities who are working tirelessly to vaccinate those eligible and in turn, protect them from COVID-19.

Of the one million vaccinations given so far, 70% are for first doses and 30% for second. Almost 90% of people over the age of 80 have had their vaccination/s in south east London and 91% of people in care homes have been vaccinated. Uptake of the vaccine by people of all ethnicities is also increasing thanks to the efforts of staff and community champions who are encouraging people to come forward. However, ICS partners recognise that more still needs to be done.

South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust Interim Service Director, Peace Ajiboye, received his COVID-19 vaccine on the day one million vaccinations were given across south east London. Peace received his vaccination from Matron and Vaccinator, Sonia Preddie.
Dr Chisom Okechukwu and Care Coordinator Cemene Fraser from Prentis Medical Centre in Streatham vaccinated Wilson Gines and Owen White at La Rosa Care Home on the day one million vaccinations were given across south east London.
