A New 24/7 Mental Health Crisis Text Service for South London
A more accessible way to reach crisis support
South London has launched a dedicated mental health crisis text service, designed to give people immediate support through WhatsApp — a platform widely used across communities. Anyone struggling with their mental health can now message 0303 330 1511 at any time of day or night to speak with trained mental health advisors.

The service aims to make crisis support easier to reach, especially for people who may find phone calls overwhelming or prefer written communication. Advisors can offer compassionate, confidential guidance and help people manage distress in the moment.
Beyond crisis support, the team can also signpost individuals to practical help with housing, finances, employment, relationships and other challenges that often sit alongside mental health difficulties. The service is delivered by Everyturn, a mental health charity with extensive experience running crisis lines, safe havens and community‑based support.
What this means for people in Greenwich
For residents in Greenwich, this new service offers an additional route to help — one that is quick, discreet and easy to use. Many people prefer messaging over speaking on the phone, and this service ensures they can still access professional support whenever they need it.
It also strengthens the wider network of crisis care across South London, giving people more choice in how they reach out and ensuring support is available even when other services are closed.
