Armed Forces Week offers a moment to recognise the service, sacrifice and cultural heritage of the Gurkha community, whose long‑standing presence in Greenwich continues to shape the borough’s identity and enrich its civic life.

Health & Care Support for the Armed Forces Community in Greenwich 

For generations, Gurkha soldiers have served alongside the British Armed Forces with exceptional dedication. Their families, many of whom have made Greenwich their home, contribute to the borough’s social, cultural and community fabric in ways that are both visible and deeply rooted. From supporting local organisations to maintaining strong intergenerational networks, the Gurkha community plays a vital role in the life of the area.
