Council leader praises NHS and gives important message to local residents
Cllr Danny Thorpe, Leader of the Royal Borough of Greenwich, recently received care at University Hospital Lewisham (UHL) following an accident earlier this year. Danny has recorded a message to local residents, in which he says: ”I want to say a massive thank you to all of the staff who helped keep me and many other people safe. I was so impressed by the measures that the hospital is taking to keep our NHS open, because it’s absolutely essential that – if you need treatment – you must not delay in getting the help that you need. The whole of our healthcare system is working incredibly hard to ensure that our residents receive the healthcare that they need in this pandemic.
“We need you to do your bit – to make sure that you get those appointments and take up the services that are offered to you. Everyone is working absolutely flat-out to make our services as safe as they possibly can. I want to say again a massive thank you to everyone working in the NHS."
